Don’t be fooled by its romantic name: starry-eyed though it may sound, the eyes atop the Whitemargin Stargazer’s head are for camouflage aimed at ambushing its prey. More lightning-ray than starry-night, this predator not only has double-grooved poison spines on its fins but also a pouch behind its eyes with electric organs that can discharge up to 50 volts, badly stinging unsuspecting oceanic passersby.
